I asked a similar question years ago..regarding the lack of live aboard scuba diving trips in east coast waters. I knew this was world class diving at it's best. Later, after several hundred dives in the North Atlantic, I now understand why...they do not call this the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" for nothing. I have been researching and salvaging marine casualties in the east coast for years, I can say that the passeneger cruise ships best remain in other parts of the ocean.

JasonG, we'll have to chat sometime about your explorations. I agree with what you say about the Atlantic. One of my two all-time favorite liners is now at rest way below its surface (SS SeaBreeze, built as Federico C).

Of course, given the north Atlantic has hundreds of years for the wrecks to pile up - since it was a main "highway" for ships and also we did have a couple world wars that sent many ships to the bottom - this isn't that surprising.

I made "many" forays into the Atlantic in my Navy nuclear power career (some are still classified). I wouldn't cast it in an ominous light.

And let's not forget the mysterious Bermuda Triangle.

Yes, there is the theory of an underwater UFO base being the cause of the Bermuda Triangle events.
