Question about war.. or terrorism...

We have scheduled a cruise on the voyager for march 9-16th. i was wondering, if by any chance something happend in the states, like miami or any other city being bombed. for safety reasons, would they keep the ship from going back to miami and keep us in the caribbean, or whatever... or???

if something like that happens, you can be sure that the cruise line and the authorities will try their very best to ensure the safety of the ship, its passengers and crew. They will take whatever measures they consider necessary.

I wouldn't worry about this. I know a lot of people are. We had friends returning from Europe on Sept. 11th, and due to arrive in New York on the 14th. They zig-zaged back, cut off all communications, and landed in Boston several days later. I really feel that everyone is worrying unnecessarily. We have 2 cruises planned this year, and 2 next year, and we're just going to go and have fun as usual. Enjoy yoiur cruise. Everything will be fine.

we are scheduled to cruise the Ocean Village round the Med in a few months, and I have become nervous with all the security surrounding the LOndon airports. Thanks for this reassurance, and I feel much better knowing I'm not the only worrier!

I think we're all going to have to learn to live with that threat hanging over us, and just go ahead and live our lives. For those who are really worried, there is at least one travel insurance company that will reimburse people for cancellation penalties should they cancel a trip due to terrorist activity in the areas where they are traveling (I'm sure it wouldn't cover you if you decided to tour Iraq or Afghanistan, however!) Ask your travel agent about this - we always strongly recommend trip insurance for our clients.
