I LOVE IT WHEN CRUISE LINES SAY THEY HAVE REFURBISHED AND SPENT MILLIONS ON THESE OLDER SHIPS, WHEN THE ONLY THING NOTICABLE IS THE CARPETING CHANGES..EXAMPLE I WAS ON THE FAIRSEA IN THE 70'S WHEN PO BOUGHT SITMAR THEY BRAGGED HOW THEY SPENT MILLIONS ON REDOING THE TWO OLDER SHIPS ADDING ART ETC, YET THE SAME BED SPREADS WERE STILL ON THIS SHIP IN THE 90'S GO FIGURE, I THINK ITS ALL HYPE TO GET PEOPLE TO RECRUISE ON THE SAME SHIP AGAIN..

I was on the first cruise of the old S.S. Independence after a $28 million refurbishment in 1994 and the standing joke on the cruise was, "that was a nice start!" The new carpeting was the only obvious improvement.

Well, If you book a good cabin on the Celebrity Century. you will find a new look inside as well as outside:
Century has just emerged from a $55 million refurbishment that added many features found on the Millennium-class vessels. 314 new verandas were added to cabins, and 14 new suites were created out of existing space, 10 new staterooms categories, ranging from inside to veranda, including an expanded number of Concierge Class staterooms and a new specialty restaurant have been added.

SHANGHAII 100---THAT SHIP WAS OVERHAULED, SOUNDS NICE, BUT I HEARD CELEBRITY WASNT A GOOD CRUISE LINE TO GO ON, DO YO KNOW DIFFERENTLY??

I prefer the new ships ( Millennium class ), they are great!

We have been on Celebrity Summit twice and thought she was a very pretty ship.

We will definitely go on Celebrity again. The only negative comment I can think of is that we didn't feel the food was as tasty as on RCCL. But that is always a matter of personal opinion.

We loved the Thassotherpy pool. The internet cafe was superior to the RCCL ships we have been on. Debarkation was very organized. Cabin attendants and wait staff were excellent.
