Silversea unveils first full world cruise
20/9/2005
Silversea Cruises unveiled its 2007 world cruise - the company's first full
circumnavigation -- at a luncheon today for top travel agents at New York's
'21' Club.
The 126-day voyage on Silver Shadow will begin in Fort Lauderdale on Jan.
15, 2007, and end in New York on May 22. The cruise will take in 61 ports.
'Segments will be available but we're encouraging agents to focus on the
full world cruise,' Silversea spokesman Brad Ball told Seatrade Insider. He
said the company aims to sell at least 60 suites for the full voyage. Nine
segments will be marketed.
The course will chart Mexico and Peru, the South Pacific, Australia, New
Zealand and the Far East, Arabia, Egypt, the Mediterranean, and Atlantic
isles including Bermuda.
Customers who book the full voyage will be invited to exclusive shoreside
events and receive other perks including transfers and luggage handling,
$1,000 per person on-board credit and eight shore excursions.
Fares start at $52,794, including a special 10% Extended Voyage savings (5%
above standard Extended Voyage savings) in addition to other savings, such
as Early Booking Incentive, Advance Payment Bonus (for full payment made by
July 19, 2006) and Venetian Society savings.
(if you do the math though, this is not really that bad...what with all the
perks you are getting...)
(***STILL*** Can you imagine what your sail & sign card will look like at
the end - even with the $1K credit! :-)

Hey, a world cruise - now I could go for that! Of course, I would have to win the lottery so I could quit my job, but a girl can dream. Speaking about dreaming, Nancy & Tom - whatever happened to the group cruise you were going to put together? Are you still planning to do one, or did I miss the announcement?
Suzi
the moderators of the German forum here at Cruise-Chat.com went on a group cruise with 90 participants last month. Tom & Nancy have been working on organizing a cruise for the whole board for some time. I'm sure they will announce something sooner or later. Tom was away from home for a whole month and has just returned. I'm sure he or Nancy will be glad to provide all of us with the details as soon as they are ready to do so.
Gosh World Cruise sounds Awesome. I am a stay at home mom but DH has to work. Guess Group cruise will have to work.

I received my mailer for this cruise in this morning's mail. One can do the complete 108 day Los Angels to Ft Lauderdale for $49,995 in the Deluxe Suite (Virtuoso pricing - brochure price is $79,870)... you don't want to know the Butler Suite pricing. The cruise is also broken into 6 segments if you can't do the entire 3.6 months. As soon as I win the lottery, I'm off.....
