A thought just came to me.

Are we allowed to bring (not the box itself)on our flights, a (90 - 100 calorie)bar or small snack sack to munch on, or will security toss it out?

i was on a flight a month or so ago and our family brought everything from homemade sandwiches, to fruit, to pretzels/chips/candy....i believe that the ban is on liquids/gels only

actually, and im laughing now that i remember, we had gone out to a nice dinner the night before, and we brought a doggie bag with our left over filet mignon...my girlfriend and i sat on the floor by the gate, eating our cold steak with plastic utensils...very fancy

We have always taken snacks on to the plane with us since we are both diabetic, but I don't think you can take a drink.

The TSA rules are for liquids and gels. Snack bars, candy bars, sandwiches, whole fruit, etc., are perfectly fine.

Look here for more details on what is prohibited and what is allowed.

It really depends on the airline... Southwest and Lufthansa always let me board with my vodka and red bull. Sometimes when the cabin depressurizes it can cause some bags of potato chips to expand and rupture. Funny scene actually.

Once you go through security you can buy anything and take it on the plane.

Noo...really...are you sure this is not one of these tall tales some of you cruisers like to tell ? I've been on many planes in uk & usa and have never seen or heard of this...I bet its one of those "my friend knows someone who has actually seen this happen" type tales.
If its true ...I'm gonna have to reduce the 25 bags of crisps I keep in my case to maybe only two when I fly ......regards jack

In the UK crisps are chips and chips are french fries. I think french fries are sunburned Parisian tourists, but then again there isn't a lot of sun in the UK. Now scurry up the apples and pears!
