Tom and I have been considering a way to recognize those in our Cruise-Chat Community that have made a significant contribution to the site. After extensive deliberations, we have decided to bestow upon Marita (aka Oppis) the honor of being the very first recipient of the "C-C Spirit Award". Her self-initiative and willingness to translate and post many of our recent messages onto the German forum is worthy of our thanks and appreciation. Not to mention her consistently positive outlook, her willingness to diplomatically stick up for someone who may have an unpopular viewpoint, the unbelievable gusto with which she approaches a new thread, and the true love of cruising that comes through with everything she writes. She never seems to edit what she says for what might be a jaded audience- her love for cruising and the experiences associated with it seem almost childlike at times. At the same time it is clear that she uses great discretion in what she says and takes care never to offend anyone. She is supportive, positive, knowledgable about the subject matter, and I am glad to have her as a C-C friend.
But hey, let's not forget the best thing about Oppis: no matter what time I wake up she has posted a response to the last thing I read before going to bed.

Yes cruising has become one of the important things in my life. And this board too.
When I come back from my morning walk with my dog, I turn on my computer to check my emails and take a look, first in cruise-chat and than in the german board.
I´m working at home, managing a vacationpark in Holland and having my company to rent these houses. And when I need a break, I go to the board and look, where I can answer a question.
