I am going on an annual mission trip to Honduras in February and would like to get all possible information on the best way a Honduran could obtain employment on a cruise ship, such as necessary documentation, who to contact, etc. There are many willing young people there that could use a break in life and cruise ship employment would be a great way out of their trap. Thanks for any input.

There are a few agencies that cruise lines use, plus there are some of the cruise lines that advertise for employment on their websites. I'm not sure what papers are required, but I'll bet if you contacted the cruise lines they would be able to answer your questions. Did you try google? I know I've submitted resumes on-line for Royal Caribbean and Carnival, but I'm a US citizen. Maybe one of the employees will read your post. It sounds like a marvelous service you are providing. Best wishes!

Thanks Penny! I'll try that. Crew members from other countries have told me they have an "agent" they have to work through. I haven't seen any crew members from Honduras to find out the best route to take because I fear some of these agencies could be scams.

This year's project down there is our biggest yet. WIll be installing clean drinking water and electricity to 2 remote villages for approx 100+ families. I always come home with more questions than answers!
