It's the middle of April,Snowing like crazy here in Montreal! Cheer me up.What are your ideas for theme cruses? (careful I here that the top cruise line executives monitor this site, you might just get what you ask for!)
I've seen some music-themed cruises I would love to try; big band, jazz and chamber music.
I think a jazz cruise on one of our big sternwheelers would be just fantastic. I've seen some European river barge cruises with a chamber music theme that looked appealing--Vienna, Prague, Salzburg . . .
And a big band theme cruise on any ship going anyplace would be great.
By the way Bruce, maybe you didn't know but you can edit your posts for 30 minutes after posting--just click on the edit/delete icon in the lower right corner of your post. Then you'll never have to say your sorry.
On Princess cruises to the Caribbean for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I wish they would stick to the Caribbean theme and stop playing songs about snow. Who wants to hear about snow in the Caribbean? Now that I have vented, it would be fun to be on a pirate themed cruise. Or a cruise with some professional F1 or MotoGP drivers where you could take classes and race when you got to one of the islands. How about a tour of the vineyards theme, each day featuring a different vineyard-yummo! Just a few ideas, can't wait to read others on this one. Great topic Bruce! It gets your mind off of cold, cruddy weather.
How lucky you were to be able to see Schu, Ferrari really misses him. I was glad to see Massa do well this weekend, finally, but I know in my heart Schumacher would have made those passes stick in the last race. Sure wish Kimi would get a personality. Plus, you got to hear the real F1, 10 cylinder engines. I bet the 8 cylinders still scream, especially at 19,000 rpm, but I would have loved to have heard the real engines. One of these days, I'd love to get to one. Maybe I could schedule a cruise that would port the day of a race. I'd love to do Monza or Monte Carlo. Oh well, I can dream
I never thought of that. Mika at least smiled when he won. Did they let you near the pits? I would absolutely love to be able to get close to one, just to look at the technology. I can't remember how much they said it was for the steering wheel, but it seems to me it was in the 10s of thousands. I think I read somewhere it was 2.5 million per vehicle. I cry when I see them wreck, the carbon fiber shattering, all that money--boom--it's gone!
