Cabin location

Is it a bad idea to stay in a cabin located on the lowest level and at the back of the ship?

You will get many different views on this. Personally, I have been on the bottom passenger deck many times. I do not notice anything different with motion. Depending where your cabin is aft you might hear some engine noise, but not bad enough to be bothersome. Remember there are other decks below you, but not passenger decks. You will have further to go up to the promenade deck, lido deck, etc,. But I jus consider it good exercise.

On mt dirst cruise I was on the lowest passenger deck. There was some engine noise but not enough to bother me. The only time I could hear anything was coming into port one morning.

Me and my wife have been on 2 cruises and stayed on the Main deck on two Carnival cruises which is the next to last deck. We tried to stay more towards the middle of the ship (supposedly there is less motion) and we slept great and didn't here too much noise. We could hear the azimuth thrusters on the bottom of the ship as we were coming into port. That's all...
