New Orleans Motels

Can anyone help tell me some inexpensive places to stay in New Orleans? We will be crusing from there on the Conquest in Nov. Also, do any of the motels store your vehicle for the cruise?

There is a Best Western in Fat City (Metairie) near the night life that has very affordable rates, and allows guests to leave their cars there for the cruise. It is in a safe, well lit area. I learned of this last week at our travel agents monthly travel show.

Thanks David. I had not thought about Fat City. I looked at a sleep Inn downtown, but they did not store your vehicle for the cruise.

that's good news, now I just have to find Fat City? We are planning a New orleans dep. also and had looked at a Motel 6 near airport and park at pier. I take it your sugestion would be the best to a newbie to Cruising and that city?

Jeff and Tony,
Another option is, The Ambassador Hotel. It offers free parking of your vehicle for the duration of the cruise and is only 3 short blocks from the French Quarter. Rates are very reasonable and it is recommended by the New Orleans Visitor's Bureau. I have not stayed there personally, but know people who have and they thought it was great.
