the one thing i do want to do on vacation is get wasted at least half of the time. so all the ppl complaining about the drinking and smoking onboard is making me think i took the right ship! 4 more days im freakin out

Not to dampen your excitement, but there are restrictions on where smoking is allowed and they are enforced. Similarly, people who are "wasted" can be cut off (and I've seen it happen). Also, you can attract the unwanted attention of ship's security. And if there is one complaint I have about Carnival it is that their security staff can be annoying at times.

And come on.....there is nothing humorous about alcoholism. Please try to keep your posts a little more sober.

Im with you Dave, not a bit funny about alcoholism, its a disease just like cancer (which by the way can be caused by smoking, either first hand or secondhand). Im glad they limit the smoking areas. It can definitely be annoying when you take and cruise and find an annoying drunk on board. I go on a cruise to get away from the boring everyday life and the last thing I want is to be stuck on board with someone who is continuously drunk and obnoxious.

Where is it written that just because your 25 you have to act like a fool and get drunk? Where is it written that if you don't drink you can't have fun? Where is it written that a 25 can't drink reponsibly and still have fun without being obnoxious? Pleeeez!!! We don't want to read about another missing person from a cruise ship.

WOW, There is a difference between getting a good buzz and being "wasted". I myself drink and smoke, but know before I get "wasted" when to call it a night. Not to judge anyone who has as their goal to get "wasted" and miss half of their cruise. They paid for it.

I guess when someone starts a topic "I love Alcoholics" and then says they want to get "wasted" half of their cruise, a reaction might be expected.

I did not know anyone still said "wasted", Have not heard that since High School. Have all the fun you want, security will keep you in check in public areas.

Another 1 cent worth is, you are going the wrong time of year for the party Dude!

If you truly love Alcoholics, I will issue a challenge to prove it. In the Capers, the daily list of activities on board, there will be listed "Friends of Bill W. meet". You go to that meeting and express your love to them while sober.

IslandCruz and Dave....I agree with what you're both saying here. Funny how the older we get, the more we like remembering our vacations!! And furthermore...I don't think I'd like hugging that "scary" toilet!! Those things might just suck your face right off!! In fact, that just might be another way a passenger would come up "missing"! Grooooossss!! HA!

I myself am 26 (took my first cruise at 24) and have no desire to get 'wasted' on the ship. For one, the alcohol is WAY to expensive, so unless you have a VERY low tolerance you will be spending a LOT of money. And second, there is too much to see and do to be wasted through a good majority of your cruise.

Your comment "i'm 25 and going to act like 25" isn't a fair comment. I know a lot of people my age (and younger for that matter) who are very mature and responsible.

I'm not going to rant and rave....you're going to do what you want to do.
