Hi everyone I recently read on the forum about a cruise that covers both alaska and the panama canal and it sounds right up our street can anyone tell me please more details about this as our ta cannot find the cruises and ships that cover this any help gratefully accepted
many thanks Julie
I don't believe that would be one cruise, but back to back cruises. Your TA needs to look for cruises that leave Alaska at the end of the season and work their way down to California, then from California they work their way down Mexico, Central America into Panama.
Princess has a Grand Panama Canal cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Vancouver in April and the reverse in September. To work Alaska in you could take either the first or last Voyage of the Glaciers cruise of the season. These are on Coral Princess or Island Princess.
As f-mattox said, Princess has a Fort Lauderdale to Vancouver that begins April 25 and then the AK Northbound from Vancouver to Whittier on May 12 on the Coral Princess. Although the ship docks and takes on new passengers in SF, you don't have to get off and reboard until Vancouver. The fall reposition for the Coral begins September 5 from Whittier, AK to Fort Lauderdale in two cruises.
The Island Princess' reposition is a bit different in that it has a LA roundtrip cruise stuck in there before you go to AK - it isn't a straight shot like the Coral.
