At last, a proper apology

Just amazing, was coming out of Yahoo mail when this caught my eye.....
"over the past several months many travelers who applied for a passport did not receive their travel document in time for their planned travel.I deeply regret that" says Assistant Secretary of State, Mary Harly who is in charge of passports for US citizens

and then she follows this with ......
"I accept complete responsibility for this"

now how about that for an honest statement from one of your important officials.
sorry I'm not tring to start a political debate ..I just find it refreshing when someone in charge admits responsibility for something that has upset many innocent travelers.

Back in 2004, when I was planing my very first cruise, I began visiting this website and chatroom.

It was during that time, someone here strongly suggested I get a passport right away, before they mandate it's use on cruises. I am glad I took their advice and did so. I don't have to deal with the hassles people go through when the apply for passports now. That is why I appreciate this website and chatroom. Thank you everyone

But what does that mean? Will she wear a shirt that says, "I'm stupid" or will she pay the losses to travelers. To accept responsibility without sacrifice, compensations, or restitution is to say nothing at all!

That being said, I have never heard of her.

It's pretty easy to apologize and accept blame and responsibility when nodody knows (or cares) who you are.
