Does anybody have a line on cheap airfare from the US, namely "Seattle", to San Juan PR ?
any ideas at all, how to get the great specials i have heard people talk about so many times??

Geenie, if you're willing to spend the time to shop around, you'll probably land on a great special. Airfares can change minute to minute, though, so there's never a guarantee you will get the lowest price of all!

We are planning to travel to San Juan for a cruise in December. I have been constantly monitoring airfares between Portland and San Juan (albeit a little early yet to buy tickets). Since it's only a 2 1/2 hour drive, I've also been looking at fares out of Seattle. In general, JetBlue seems to have the best prices; right around $400rt (if you don't mind flying on a red-eye via JFK; depends on the days your flying as well; also, you can only book 7 months out on JetBlue). The flight leaving San Juan (there's only 1) leaves at 2:45, so that works out well if you want to leave the same day your cruise arrives back at port.

As Karen mentioned, prices do change and you're never guaranteed of getting the best price. Check all the usual suspects (Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia). If you're adventurous, give Priceline a whirl. I'll let you know if I come across something else.

I use www.itasoftware.com and it always seems to come up with the best fares. Of course, it will also finds the longest way to get to where you are going at the same time. Give it a try. It searches a number of sites at the same time and is free to use without having to register.

While looking for our cruise in May, I found that to non-standard port cities (like Miami) that the best fares (at least from MSP) are charter fares to San Juan. That is why we are cruising from Miami - charters are done here in April.

I would wait it out.

We did not wait long enough in fear the fares would go up and I checked yesterday just to see and our fares for 5 people have dropped a net $400. So, THAT - totally bummed me out!!

Thanks TOM! Loved that site. The flights from NC to Orlando were only $153, Cheapest I have seen yet! Emailed it to our entire cruise group.
