Cruise-Chat Member Cruise Preliminary Poll

I guess I should call this a North American Cruise-Chat Member Cruise, since the cost for most of us to fly to Europe would probably kill the whole plan - and vice versa. It is already a challenge just to decide on a cruise to take.

Maybe some day we will be able to arrange a grand cruise that is a good fit for those on both sides of the Atlantic.

Let me just throw this out there;
I'm not campaigning for a West Cost port--I stated earlier I will go anywhere and I mean that--but how about this as grist for the mill;

how about a four-day coastal repositioning cruise, say L.A. to Vancouver or Seattle as the cruise-chat cruise; and those that wanted could stay on for an Alaska cruise; or the other direction--Vancouver to L.A. and then a Mexican Riviera cruise.
I know one of the first objections would be, "that's not a very interesting itinerary"; but the ship and the itinerary are not really the objectives here, are they? It's getting the group together.

Just a thought.

Not to mention, the ship can be the destination. Nothing wrong with fewer ports and more bar,pool or whatever time.

Actually the re-po cruise is not a bad idea at all. If it ends up being a port I need to fly to, it really doesn't matter much which coast it is for me

Hey Dave and All,

Did we at least get a majority on the other thread with it being a 4-5 day? That would be good to have that basically settled.

Also when the Embarkation Port Poll has had a chance to run for a period, should we then do a Month Poll based on those results?

I agree with the other posts, I don't care about the ports. We just need to get the basics settled.

Then within the Embarkation Port and Month decided we could put the best 5 options on to poll.

How long to leave each poll up between results is the question.

actually there won't be that many organized activities on our "European member cruise" that would require you to speak or understand German. And of course the official onboard language onboard the "Color Magic" is Norwegian, which could come in handy for you.

What a ninny! I voted then wasn't sure as soon as the page came up for the tallies if I hit vote or results. I think it would be a fun idea, but not sure one bowl could hold this many nuts at once. Funny how a chat room makes friends without even seeing each other..comradeship I guess.

I agree with you, baby doll. There are some folks here I would trust implicitly based on getting to know them in this forum. Chat rooms truly are a fascinating part of our culture.

There is a bit of a mystery in that we don't often see the faces of those with whom, (through getting to know their writing style,) we are so familiar!

Dave, how about the next poll question since we are cruising from Florida??? I dont' see any reason to rush it, and I would be in favor of taking the time to make it in 2008.
