I have had an on-going argument with my co-worker as to which side of the ship my cabin is on. I say that I'm on the port side and she say's starboard.
When I'm looking at the diagram that's provided by RCCL of the ship, it appears that the side with cabins numbered 7282 is the Starboard side and cabins numbered 7582 would be the Port side. Please end this fight.
I don't know which ship you are talking about, but starboard is the right side of the ship, facing forward (towards the bow), while portside is the left side of the ship, facing forward.

Tell your co-worker that an easy way to understand it is that port is left and both have four letters.

Or the temperance version (which also gives you the color of the port running light) "Port wine is RED and should be LEFT alone."
I certainly stay away from red wine! It gives me the gout. I found out the hard way after going on a wine binge on the Mariner Of The Seas. Did all the tastings at the wine bar, ordered flights of red wine, etc. A week after I got home the gout hit me with a vengeance. It hasn't returned since I stopped going with the red. White doesn't seem to bother me.
