On one of our cruises we were very stupid (and naive) and sat our camcorder outside with our luggage. Wasn't thinking at all. Of course it went missing. Surprised, huh? Learned our lesson. Take all valuables with your carry-on.

If we bring our carry on suitcase that we used for the flight, will we be allowed to carry it on the ship when we embark? It is the standard 21" carryon w/ wheels.

I will be a first time cruiser soon. I am not fond of the idea of leaving my luggage out in the hallways either...especially since some of it will be marked to join us in Fairbanks at the end of our land tour. I would rather just take everything with us. We have conflicting information. Princess told our TA we could take whatever luggage the airlines allowed us to travel with. The pre-cruise info states 1 large suitcase per person and 1 tote. AAArrrggghhh....they need to get their info straight.
