Ships from the Past

Hello LisaP,
I was just responding to choochella's comment about Sun Princess. It is going to be sailing for P&O Australia from October to April, then coming back to Princess--just like the Pacific Princess has been doing all along.

f-mattox, I am thrilled to hear about Sun Princess. Sounds like this may be in my future.

Peter, no problem -- I often mix them up. They were beautiful ships, weren't they?

I never sailed on it but what about the Carnival Tropicale?

Carnival transferred Tropicale to Costa in 2001, and the ship is now sailing with P&O as Pacific Star, as of about a year ago.

LisaP, yes, SOA was a great little ship and she had a great crew and we enjoyed our very first cruise with our friends. We did see all the little out of the way places during our cruise and she is a great memory as our first ever cruise.

Have sailed on Tropicale and was a nice smaller ship. Here is a little trivia I am sure you all aready know..The Tropicale was the first ship Carnival built and was designed for "Fun Ship" cruising..the rest is history.

Wow, jr., I'd like to hear more about your cruise on Emerald Seas. She had quite a history!

My first cruise was Carnival's first Newbuild, the Tropicale, in her maiden season, followed by the Mardi Gras.....both gone
Then the loveliest ship ever, the Crown Monarch, also in her maiden season...not only is the boat gone, the whole line went under.
And of course the Norway, not quite gone, but soon to be.
Just realized those are the first 4 ships I sailed....
But I am not taking responsibility for any of this.....
