Today marks the first time in over a year that a cruise ship will leave the Port Of New Orleans. Read about it here.

Yes, on our NCL Dream cruise this week we talked with several crew members that came from the Sun (I guess they swapped a bunch of crew members between the two ships.) This is great news for The Big Easy. It will be better once CCL and RCL get in there too. Which isn't too far off.

One of my co-workers is leaving on the Sun 10/22/06. He's so excited and it's great to see the port opened again. Princess will be going into NO next spring. Now if they get some better itineraries for Princess out of there, it sure would be a closer drive for us. Hopefully, the hurricanes are through with us for a long time!

That is great news. I hope they get CCL back soon as I have been wanting to sail out of there or Texas for some time. I have never been further west than Alabama

I read in Travel Trade they were going to move Fantasy to Nor'leans. Carnival has certainly got their money's worth from that ship. The Biggest Bahama Cruise Mama in her day.

And after the refurb She still looks great
I guess is a good idea, but will miss the grande dame of quicky cruises being on my coast. But when I get to cruise from Nor'leans I will be right at home on Fantasy

No, he was on the NCL Sun. He had a great time and loved Belize and Guatemala. We had a wonderful cruise on the Sun Princess and are awaiting our cruise on the Costa Magica. We booked the Emerald Princess for next November while on board the Sun. She's a sister ship to the Crown, so I'm really looking forward to that cruise as well. Have a wonderful cruise
