Bugs bites?

Are there a lot of mosquitos, and bitting bugs in Nassau? Should we bring bug spray?

We never got any bug bites, but that may have been because we were wearing sunscreen with bug repellent in it.

From what I read we need to use a bug protectant with deet in it. Also how risky are the islands for malaria, and travelers disease? Do we need to get immunation shots before going to the Caribbean Islands?

I don't think you will find much risk in Nassau, but here is my recommendation if you travel at all. My son and I surf in areas of the world that have polluted oceans as many of the world's best surf spots are near, or at river mouths that create the points that make the waves so excellent. We are always current on tetanus, hepatitis A and B and malaria. It doesn't take much to stay current and it will protect you from so many things that you might run into traveling (especially in third world nations)
