We have sailed Carnival Ecstasy 3night cruise and RCL Monarch of the Seas 5 night cruise, both older ships, shorter vacations. We are planning a 7 night Western Caribbean Cruise in December 2004 with Friends and just cannot stick to a SHIP! We have been all over the internet and it seems some find carnival dirty and others find RCL's food just okay. We can get a balcony on carnival for a lot less than RCL!
We are two couples ages 25 & 26 , engaged and recently married, middle income with no children, looking to have a FUN vacation (we have been to Cozumel together and LOVED carlos n charlies) If you have any opinions on the cleanliness of Victory or the age group/food etc on RCL's Voyager PLEASE RESPOND!
Thank you in advance

Based on what you have told us about yourself, either ship would suit your needs. I found the food on Carnival and the Voyager to be comparable. Personally, I am partial to Royal Caribbean as it is a bit more subdued. The biggest difference is noted in the disco. Carnival discos really cater to the 18-21 year old set, whereas there is a bit wider age range (and music venue) with Royal Caribbean. Whichever ship you choose, if you are looking for adult time - don't schedule your trip for the 2 weeks that revolve around Christmas and New Years as there will be a ton of children onboard either vessel.

I think the Victory is one of the ugliest ships afloat. I know that is harsh, but I just hate the interiors. And I agree with previous poster that RCCL may be more your speed. but if price is an issue, and you want that balcony, keep in mind RCCL will adjust rates at ANY time. So you could book now and price could come down for a balcony before you cruise (it COULD also go up).
Carnival has good food, and GREAT service, ESPECIALLY for the money.
I am sailing with my family on victory 12/7/03.
This will be our 2nd cruise. Our 1st was a 3night on the fantasy. Your comments about the ship have me a little concerned, would you please give me more infomation about the ship. I had read a review that the Triumph was much like old vegas style and that Victory was much nicer. Please let me know more. Thanks abunch.
