hi there,
I was not aware that people travelled abroad without insurance unless one has limitless funds...don't suppose our Queen bothers!! Recently a dear friend went from UK to Tenerife and suffered a brain haemorrhage over there. They flew him back in air ambulance at a cost of about $30,000 (Plane, nurse, doctor etc) Sadly he died soon after getting back to UK. The point is that if he was not insured his wife would have had to take out a second mortgage to pay the air costs... so as I say, I would not venture abroad without cover. Best wishes from Coach |
I take out insurance whenever I travel for several reasons.
I have a grandmother turning 90 in July I have kids and you never know what can happen For the medical insurance. I in fact became sick on a recent cruise to Alaska and had to see the ship doctor and get medications totalling $110.00 which I received full refund from the insurance company when I returned home and filed a claim. The insurance cost me $67 so it paid for itself and then some. You just never know what can happen and I don't want to worry about $ incase something were to happen.
