Nancy,

Thanks for these updates. I worry about my Star friends.
We had one of our SICU nurses be deployed today for Wilma.
Hope our Florida friends will be safe. Thinking about you.

Okay Cruise-chatters - here is this afternoons Update:
Hurricane Wilma, currently a Category Four storm, is now projected to strike Florida on Monday rather than on Sunday as originally reported -- which means weekend turnarounds in Florida will probably proceed as scheduled. Heavy rain and winds have already pounding the beaches of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

At this point, cruise lines including Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Disney and Royal Caribbean expect weekend cruises to sail as scheduled from Florida. However, Royal Caribbean is advising those departing from Miami and Port Canaveral this weekend to monitor the Royal Caribbean Web site for information.

Here are RCI's latest projections for Itinerary changes on this week-ends upcoming cruises:
Sovereign of the Seas will arrive in and depart from Port Canaveral Friday, October 21, as scheduled. The ship will sail a modified itinerary with a port call in Nassau, Bahamas, Saturday, returning to Port Canaveral Monday.

Mariner of the Seas, October 23 departure: is currently expected to sail a modified itinerary with port calls in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tuesday; Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Wednesday; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Thursday; returning to Port Canaveral Sunday.

I would suggest checking the web site of your port of departure 24 hrs. before your sailing is scheduled. The coast guard usually closes the port's that are affected 24-36 hour's before the storm is to hit. NOAA is saying that Wilma will not hit the west coast of Fla. until late Monday afternoon. If this is the case all Saturday and Sunday departure's from the Florida port's should be O.K. Maybe the late Sunday's say after 5 p.m. will be a problem. Lets keep our finger's crossed and hope they all make it with no problem's. Tom
