Babies allowed on cruises

Recently, my wife and I were informed that we could not bring my 1 and 1/2 year old son on the Golden Princess. Nowhere in their website or literature does it state anything about age restrictions. Needless to say I will not be giving Princess any business. Celebrity treated my family very well and waited on my son hand and foot. If anyone else has had a problem with children on board please reply. Thanks, Phil

I was just on the Mercury last week and there were several small (under 2 years of age, I would guess) Children aboard and the families were having the timer of their lives.

We were on the Jewel of the Seas (RCCL) last week and there were a +lot+ of families and children on board including some in strollers. I don't know how young the youngest was but the ship seemed very kid friendly.

I was recently on the Vision of the Seas (Jan.'05) and there was a couple with a baby on board. The baby was only a few months...I had talked to the couple and I can't remember exactly how old they said he was. So Royal Caribbean obviously lets on infants.

It's not that Princess forbids young children, they just limit them. They tend to cater to the kind of clientele who don't want to be overwhelmed with lots and lots of children on their vacation, at least in certain destinations and at certain times of year. What probably happened in Phil's case was that the limit had already been reached on that sailing by the time he booked.
