I've created my ticker (again) and it doesn't seem to appear on previous posts. I'm hoping it's just that it only appears on future posts. So here's a test.
Thanx,
Erika

I am researching whether HAL and/or Westours chartered the Tropicale from Carnival Cruise line in 1981, to replace HAL's Prisendam that caught fire in 1980. HAL and Westours needed a ship for the 1981 Alaska cruise season and the Tropicale had been recently built (completed in early 1981).
We sailed on the Tropicale to Alaska in the summer of 1981 and I am sure that it was an HAL operated cruise even though the Tropicale was owned by Carnival.
This is important because I believe that we are past passengers of HAL, and I want the record to show this when we sail on the 3/23/2007 Ryndam sailing to Mexico.
My initial response from HAL was not encouraging as a very young lady in HAL Reservations didn't understand my question. I asked her to look further and I am waiting for her response.
Any help that you can give me would be appreciated. As I recall I already owe Dave Beers at least one german beer but I can't remember the reeason why?
My information says the Tropicale first entered revenue service in June 1982. But I guess this is Carnival service. I can't find anything about it earlier than that.
The CruiseTickers.com site is finally done and all of the banners have been replaced. This resolves the issue of the color of type and non-transparent backgrounds. Unfortunately, if your ticker banner is not showing up in your .sig file currently, you will have to replace the code with new code. This is the last change...I promise.
But at least everything is working properly at this point. BTW, I have had so much fun working on this project that I am going to build another site that will offer a different kind of cruise clock....This time I will thoroughly test before I announce it. Thanks for all of your patience.
