I will be sailing on the Carnival Paradise (Eastern Caribbean) late August. I am concerned about being seasick, not able to enjoy the cruise. Do you have any suggestions, tips, thank you.

I've been on 12 cruises. Never gotten seasick because the ships are so smooth. BUT "Marazene" is great. Keeps you from getting seasick, without getting drowsy..

There have been periodic discussions about this on this site before. There are a lot of good remedies. One that works well for me is Bonine, or non-drowsy Dramamine, which is available OTC at most drugstores, Walmart, etc. Others use wristbands that are supposed to prevent seasickness through accupressure. Still others use ginger - tea, powdered, pills, whatever. And others use a medicated patch, available by prescription. Unless you can get sick in the front seat of a car, any of the first 3 should work fine for you. I haven't heard of the medication recommended in the previous post - perhaps Tom could elaborate? (Is this available OTC, by prescription? Does it make you drowsy? Does it have side effects? etc.)

Stabilizers on modern big cruise ships like Paradise generally keep things quite smooth. The last couple cruises I was on, I didn't have to use any meds at all. (And I get sick in the back seat of a car, at least!)

Just read Tom's post again. I guess the med he recommends doesn't make you drowsy, at least! (Oops)

I'm holding a box of "Marazine" now.. I spelled it wrong in my first post.. It's available over the counter.. I've never found it at any of the big drug stores but you can order it through them.. There's a mom and pop drug store here in Tampa that always has it. But it does work great WITHOUT getting drowsy... says it prevents and treats Nausea, Vomiting and Dizziness.. Price is like $7.00 for 12 tiny white pills.
