Drug bust for Bermuda cruiser

Warning to any fools wishing to bring marijuana or other drugs aboard a cruise ship - at least in Bermuda, the local police randomly sweep visiting cruise ships with drug-sniffing dogs. This story from Gene Sloan's USA Today column tells more.

Well, I hope he enjoyed it. Why do people think that anything goes in the islands? They have laws as well as any other place on earth.

Especially Bermuda. They even have a law about the minimum length of shorts!

A $1,500 fine; plus, he missed the rest of the cruise AND had to find his own way home . . . .I hope it was worth it!

And I have no doubt that when he landed in the U.S., Customs was well-aware of what had happened in Bermuda and provided the requisite hassles to drive home the point.

When we left for Bermuda on Oct 4th, at the parking lot on at the Pier before we were allowed to park we stopped and they had 2 dogs go to our trunk an sniff for drugs. We were told to stay in the car and wait. I was thinking that was pretty good, what an idiot !

At the port of Mobile they have a drug dog too. They randomly choose cars pulling into the unloading zone. We got selected last year.
