RichC, I remember the complimentary wine and glasses too.

I played piano and organ in several groups and Fender Bass in several others, with a little drums and trombone thrown in. But it's been 30 years. I worked on the original Island, Pacific and Sun Princess from 1974-1978.

But I have been know to make late-night appearances on numerous other Princess ships ever since.

f-mattox- Your career ended was a little earlier than we started to cruise in '87. It began with the old Fairsky which seemed luxurious in those days. Today we've sailed 20 Princess cruises & 42 overall. We keep going back to Princess because of the overall value but still like the smaller ships of the past like the Dawn, Fair, Sun, Crown & Regal. Aboard our last cruise on the Caribbean P we spotted a head waiter whom had been our waiter in '87.

RichC, I had the opportunity to visit several of the Sitmar ships (back in the days when visitors were allowed), and they really were classically beautiful.

I too miss the smaller ships. The most fun I ever had was on the original Sun Princess (Spirit of London); a little over 17,000 gt but what a relaxed and fun ship.

I am looking forward to sailing on Tahatian, Pacific and Royal Princess someday soon. I saw one of them when they were still Rennaissance ships and it looked beautiful.

We have done four cruises for 28 days total and are currently looking for one this coming spring.

Our first cruise (a great introduction) was on RCL's Song of American and it was great. We did the rock and roll when we left San Juan and also on our last day as we heading back to San Juan so this gave us an opportunity to think over if we really liked cruising ---- YES...
