overboard fears

I have a fear of falling overboard - maybe it is the bad press lately. Should I be concerned or take any precautions? Tips?

You CANNOT fall overboard, UNLESS you are standing on a table or chair. My husband is 5'11. The railing on our balcony was well above his waist...almost mid-chest height.
People who go overboard may have been too intoxicated to know the dangers of standing on objects that placed them above the railing OR they just didn't realize the dangers involved in these stunts. You will be perfectly safe!

Champ, relax. People don't just "fall" off of cruise ships. They jump. Just know your limits on alcohol while cruising. Railings are secure and are properly placed. You would have to take it upon yourself to want to fall overboard to go off the ship.

I totally agree to fall overboard is darn near impossible, now to jump over you can do but unless you are maybe 8 feet tall you won't just willy nilly fall over, so relax you'll be fine.

It is virtually impossible to fall off of a cruise-ship, but if you still have the fear when you board, just pack some bungie cords with you, each time you get close to a rail, tie a bungie cord on...this way if you do "fall" overboard, you will just bounce back onto the ship...

Seriously, unless you are drunk, leaning way over the rails, or standing on them, you will not fall off.
