We're driving to this port to boaed Solstice and I read an article (can't remember where) that there can be 6 ships leaving at the same time and traffic and boarding can be hours long. I am now stressing, has anyone had a horrible time in traffic and boarding? Holy Cow, 5 ships isn't much better than 6. Thanks for finding that for me. I guess we have to rethink what time we want to get there, I would also think they all pull out approx the same time. I think that part would be pretty interesting once your on board and relaxed to see 5 pulling out, I will have to keep focused on that vision !

I would think later may be better than early. Remember that each of those ships have thousands of people disembarking as well.
You will end up parking further away, but the shuttles will be less crowded also.
Bring your floppy hat and sunscreen and remember you've waited months for the day to arrive...what's a couple hours???

I sailed on the Carnival Freedom from Port Everglades on 11 Jan. We drove to the port, got there around 12:30. We were on board and eating lunch by 1:45. Not too bad. I don't recall how many other ships were there, I remember seeing a Celebrity ship and a Holland America ship.

We were a bit on the later side, so we didn't have to deal with the people disembarking. That would make for a madhouse in the parking area.

We're leaving from Cape Liberty in NJ,only one ship in port that day, but we have to cross the Geo Washington bridge. I don't think there is a good time to drive through NYC.
I'm looking forward to seeing the statue of liberty. I'm ashamed to say I've never seen it.
Here I am traveling to exotic lands and I haven't seen my own country.
What can I say, I prefer sunlight to neon lights.

We sailed out of FLL on a day when 6 ships were sailing also. Arrived at the port at noon and were on board by 12:30 - 12:45. There was plenty of parking in the port garage and hardly any congestion. Most disembarking passengers are long gone by 9:30 - 10:00 in the morning. You should have no problems getting there earlier rather than later. Thanks Everyone, I won't worry a bit. Poormom we left out of Cape Libery in Sept and it was so very nice to see the NY Skyline and Statue of Liberty. We got some great pictures and we also were watching the Staton Island Ferry cross in back of our ship.........have a blast!
