December weather - western Caribbean

My wife, two teenage kids (16 and 18) and I are looking at a cruise with Carnival Triumph the last week of December/03. Does anyone have any idea on what the weather is like that time of the year or where I can find out?

Also, has anyone had any experience on a cruise this time of year? With kids in school it is the only time we can get away.

I went on a cruise that same week last year to the Western Carribean out of Tampa. The first day out was cold and I hadn't brought much in the line of warm clothing. At the first port, Key West, I went out and bought a sweatshirt as did a lot of other folks from the ship. Bring a sweatshirt and a light weight jacket with you and you should be fine. The next day when we were in Cozumel it was in the mid-80s and nice and warm. The Triumph is a beautiful ship. I sailed on one of her first cruises 4 years ago. You should have a great time.
