Best cruise

Hello all,
New cruiser here. I'm in the Air Force and stationed out in California, I'm getting promoted next year so thought of possibly going on a cruise to one of my favorite places to celibrate. It would just be me and was thinking mid May or June. I'm trying to find the best line to go to on going to Australia or Europe. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

Hi, welcome to cruise chat. I used to be in the Air Force too, from 86-92. I was stationed in northern Germany, Denver, and Travis. I was in aerospace, a "scope dope". Where are you stationed now. Anyways, about cruising, do a have a preference, Australia vs. Europe? Try to find a friend, it will save you the single supplement cost. Australia I would think would be more convenient, since you are on the west coast already. Hum, I guess it comes down to where you want to go most, and perhaps cost. Lori is right about the single supplement but if you visit Vacations to go, this website will tell you that on selected sailings the single supplement is either reduced or waived.

There are some great repositioning cruises from Galveston Texas and Fort Lauderdale to Europe at very reasonable prices. Also a very interesting trip is from LA or San Diego through the Panama Canal. In May and June it gets cold in Australia as it is winter down under but Australia is a great place to visit and cruise

I read somewhere that a number of the cruse lines are offering "military discounts" (not sure which cruise lines they are), but they might be the best cruise lines to check out first. Maybe one of the "cruise gurus" on this site will know which ones are giving the military deal.
