My husband and I are going on our first cruise in January on the Adventure of the Seas. I have been scanning the posts and various sites and we are getting very excited. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary last month and this is going to be our Anniversary gift. Should we let anyone know that it is our anniversary celebration?

Yes you should. If I remember correctly, you're going on Royal Caribbean. I know on Princess, they have a cruise personalizer on-line and you can fill out special occasions you'd like to celebrate while on board. I would assume Royal would have something similar on-line. If not, tell your travel agent or if you booked directly, call them and an agent can assist you. What a great way to celebrate!

Mrs. E, Royal Caribbean definitely wants to know about special occasions being celebrated during your cruise, and a 35th anniversary certainly is special! Congratulations.

Oh Yeah! You'll want to let them know. We're doing the same thing next week, celebrating our 40th. All the waiters will come to your table and sing Happy Anniversary, off key. If you travel agent doesn't inform RCCL, make sure you let your Maitre d' know on the first day.

Mrs. E:

Just like Sonny V. said, tell the dinning room staff. I have seen them singing Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to passengers at other tables. All of the dinning room staff all come from a mix of many different countries: India & Central Asia, The Far East, and Eastern Europe. I am not sure if they sing off-key, but it sure is interesting to hear all those foreign accents singing:
"Hepy Burt Day To Jiu, Hepy Burt Day To Jiu"

I suppose, in all fairness, it might be funny for them to hear us singing a song in their native language.
