Anyone tried hotels.com?

I am considering booking hotel with www.hotels.com
Has anyone booked with them before?
Did they have good service, and are they quick in advance to take care of your reservation?

I have never used them. I looked on alot of sites and found the hotel I wanted then I went to that hotels site and it was about $15 less. It may have just been a fluke. Good Luck!

I usually book through HotelClub.com I have booked with them on four occasions and found them OK.

hello,

i have found thru the years of travel that booking thru the hotel's web site is usually the cheapest. most chains will guarantee the lowest rate. if you are a member of aaa they have good rates also.

the key to getting the best rates is to book as far in advance as possible. for our cruise in march i booked in june,06. the rate now for the same room is @100.00 more. yes i do plan far ahead,but it does save money! hope this helps.

Hi there! I have booked twice with Hotels.com. It just so happened that they had the best rate for the dates I needed. I had no trouble with them at all. I didn't have to call thier customer service or anything like that so I can't reallly comment on that. When I got to the hotel it was as they described and my check in and out with smoothly. Hope this helps.

I only had one experience but it was unpleasant.
I booked a hotel in Miami through hotels.com. Rcvd confirmation number. At the hotel they had no record of anything. They wanted to charge about $50 more a night. I had a AAA card and "persuaded" the night manager to give me the AAA rate even though it was supposed to be booked in advance to get the rate. This mau have been a scam by the hotel but I 'm not sure.
Hotels.com did not bill for the charge after I contacted them
