Ok...could passports be anymore expensive!!! I stopped by the post office and picked up the flyer. Does anyone have any tips other than handling it all through the USPS. They are saying it's like $112 for each passport and there is 4 of us. WOW! Can this be done anywhere else less expensive.

The only other place I know that does passports is a county clerks office. The price of the passport is set by the Government. The USPS may be charging some administrative fees.

USPS must be charging an extra fee unless they're quoting the expidiated service fee too. If you go to www.travel.state.gov/passport you can download the forms which clearly lists the breakdown of the prices, gives the estimated time to process and receive (tack on 3-4 weeks to whatever it says) and other information. I think ours were about 94 or 97 a piece.

Oregon is bigger than a bread box but my intuition tells me to start looking at the base of Mt. Hood, maybe Corbett or the Dales?

Thanks for the info. I saw the fee from the government...then I think USPS was charging $30 plus $15 for the photos. Just wanted to see if there were things I could do on my own also.

I didn't want to start my own counterfeit ring!

Nope, closer to LaPine, or east to Milligan.
