On the Carnival ships, the sign and sail card can be used for the charge to start your "gambling bank" as Billy mentions. This is the only time in the casino where they don't charge you a cash advance fee of 3%. So its good that you don't have to use your cash up to play. (Of course that is bad too :-) )
You only have to add money to your bank once and then the computers keep track of the balance as you play. You don't have to add money each time you play unless you use it all up. Just remember that at the end of the cruise to "cash out" you balance at the casino cashier cage as it does NOT get credited to your on board account "automatically"

You can put your card in the machine to accumulate points for the amount played on the slots. I highly recommend NOT using it for Casino funds. It can get way too easy to charge up your account.
A Casino host is usually in the casino to greet new guests (contributors) shortly after boarding. They will gladly tell you when they have certain game instructions, or offer a time to show you how to play.
Contrary to some beliefs, playing the slots does take some skill.
And what skills would those be Dwayne? I'm with you on video poker, but enlighten me on slots? I always assumed you put the money in... choose the number of lines to pay and hit the spin button.
Is there a special way to push the button?
If their are skills that I am not aware of, I'd like to know... except for Wheel o Fortune, I've never really had good luck on slots.

Best of Luck, I have in the past won enough to pay for another cruise!!
On the slots? That's what I'll have to do because I don't know how to play poker or any of the card games. And roulette--I think the odds are very low I'd win.

I hope to get to the ship earlier this time than last so I can look around and whatnot before we sail. But the casino isn't open until after we leave port.
