I'm a rookie in this cruise thing, but I want to take a cruise for my 25th wedding anniversary.I can only cruise in late June or early July, are their good cruises to take during this time frame. I have noticed that only a few ships cruise in the Caribbean during the summer. Is this a good time or a bad time to cruise.

During this timeframe there will be more families and children on the ships. Also since it is more popular with families during this time the cruiselines know this and the prices are at a premium, so you will pay more for a July cruise then you would for say an October cruise on the same ship.

There are still plenty of ships cruising the Caribbean during this period of time.

I would suggest that you contact a cruise specialist travel agent to help you book a cruise. They can answer any questions and qualify you to the best crusie for you.

We cruise every summer as my husband is a teacher and we have a school-aged son. As school is not in session, prices tend to be much higher than at other times of the year. But, that's the only negative I've found for the time frame you wish.

True -- not too many ships in the Caribbean then. That's because many are repositioned to other areas, such as Alaska, Bermuda, and Europe. We did a cruise to Atlantic Canada last July and a couple of summers prior to that.

Tell us more about what you are looking for. Which is more important to you, ship or itinerary? Do you want a lot of different ports or more days at sea? How long a cruise can you take? And -- as summer is prime time for families to cruise -- would you prefer a ship or itinerary that might have fewer kids?

An Alaskan cruise should be considered as part of your search.

Sorry for my lack of information. I live in Louisville,Ky and I guess the thing I am worried about is the hurricane season in the Caribbean. Is this a real concern this time of year since the season starts in June. We are not taking children and I'm not sure of the what I want since I have no experience, but I think I want low key relaxing time.

Officially, hurricana season is actually 6 months long, with the greatest threat of hurricanes happening from middle or late August through October. Of course, there are always exceptions, and hurricanes have occured before and after this time, but that time frame is the teeth of the season.

If you're going without kids and are celebrating your 25th, I'd look into Celebrity.
