Cheap Airfare to PR

What's the best way to get the cheapest airfare from DC to San Juan, PR? Is there a particular day/time or website? Cruise is leaving October 10th - woohoo!

I usually check one of the travel sites like Orbits or Travelocity or Kayak to sort out the prices and itineraries. Then I go to the airlines website to double check. Living in the Southwest, I'm not familiar with the airport options from the East Coast, so can't help more than this.

I never find airfare any cheaper than booking on the airlines own site. I would do a quick check on one of the above mentioned sites just to get a comparison of the airlines; then go and book it on the airlines own site.

Approx 18 months ago, in April we booked from New England to PR and we were shocked at the pricing. We checked everywhere and the pricing was about the same (we can only travel during break times)direct or indirect or through the cruise line. We are traveling from Fort Lauderdale next spring break in Feb and again, the pricing is a shocker..Good luck..We did book this time as the best we could find was through Orbitz.
