Which do I choose?

Is Hawaii or the Carribean the better option in December? If I go to Hawaii it will be with the Island Princess and the other will be with Celebrity in the Caribean. What are the seastates like in December and which has the best weather? This is the holiday I am taking my mother on for her 80th borthday so I want it to be right, Neither of us have ever cruised before. Please help with suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Lorraine,
Both the Caribbean and Hawaii offer magnificent weather in December, but if you are concerned about sea conditions - the Island Princess may be a problem. You will be traversing the open waters in the Pacific between LA and Hawaii for a number of days. There is a much greater possibility of experiencing some rough seas during that crossing than the waters in the Caribbean in December. The other aspect to consider is that this is a first cruise for both of you. While I absolutely LOVE my days at sea, for a first cruise it may not be the most ideal. JMHO
