Anyone been on a Westbound Transatlantic Cruise in Dec/Jan?

I've booked to go on a Transatlantic cruise starting in Italy, going to the Eatern Carribean and ending up in Florida. I have no problem finding average temperatures for the Ports of call but have no idea what sort of clothing I'm going to need for the 5 days at sea from Madeira to the Carribean. With airlines getting stricter about baggage allowances, I don't want to pack more warm, bulky clothing than I will need, but then again I don't want to freeze! Any help/advice from anyone who has done a similar cruise at this time of year would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Opera Girl,

we doing the Transatlantic cruise in november on the Splendour starting in Barcelona.

Weather might be very different, from warm weather to very stormy and really cold weather.
I opt for, as we call it in germany the onion-principle. that means different clothes one upon the other, so that I can took of clothes inside are when its getting warmer.
But I also take some gloves, hat and a warm jacket with me.
Somebody already asked this question on the german board and they all give similar answers.
