Hi

I have been really bothered by something lately. Has anyone else noticed cruiseline representatives representing themselves as ordinary cruisers in cruise chat boards?

Smooth sailing.

Why would that bother or suprise you? I'm sure this happens in any segment of product marketing.

Hi, glad someone is here.

Well it does if they represent themselves as an unbiased fellow cruiser then give you advice to, for example, buy cruise insurance and not independent insurance, or buy ship excursions and not independent excursions.Really the list goes on.

You are a moderator, would this in any way be construed as a problem in your board (I havent seen it here) and would you try to track it down if you saw it?

Smooth sailing.

If there is anything that you think is suspicious and warrants looking at, then please bring it to any of us moderators or administrators attention via a PM.

Yes, we would resolve that kind of problem (and have.) Like cruise fanatic said, PM us or better yet, click on the little ! sign in the bottom right hand corner of any post you feel needs our attention and it will email us for us to investigate.

I expect all the cruise lines to monitor forums like this. It would be insane to waste FREE market research.

The few cruise line employees I have chatted with have always identified themselves as such.

I don't ever recall anyone that was "posing" as a "real cruiser" that was an employee.

I am retired from the Air Force and now have my own home based travel business. I am a certified Master Cruise Counselor, Ireland Specialist and Disney Specialist. I try to cruise as often as I can to gain knowledge about the different cruise lines and see the different ships. And, because I just absolutely love cruising. No, contrary to what many think they aren't free.

Yah, well, I still want your job LOL.

I wasn't talking about market research, as I think my post indicated.

And like you say, you have dealt with that kind of situation before.

I find that very classy and encouraging.

I would love to have a job that I had to review every cruise ship on the ocean. I know, it would take a long time to accomplish that, but somehow I think I would really do a great job If anyone hears of a job like that, please let me know.
