Hi Dave,
I had heard that samething and called tonight to check and was told it would carry over at the same level. Now, I called Captain's Club not Azamara. Unless I was told wrong, I will call Azamara and check....boy that would stink if we didn't get credit. Back to you all shortly.

OUCH, OUCH
I went to Azamara not Captains Club and got the word streight from the horses mouth...
If you are Elite or Select etc on Celebrity or RCCL you must cruise with Azamara between April 2010 and Nov 2010 to get grandfathered in. If not you start over and that is the part that STINKS....I wished I could fit another cruise in my budget and vacation time at work but I am tapped out on both. I see no reason not to try OCEANIA. Wow they didn't give us loyal folks much time and I see some getting anger

Yeah, that sounds like what they told us at the news conference. Actually, at the time they didn't even mention a grandfathering deal so at least that changed for the better but it won't matter for me either. The idea is to separate Azamara Club Cruises into a distinct "club" that happens to be owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited but not necessarily affiliated with RCI or Celebrity. I think this will backfire on them since it will drive away many of us who otherwise would have considered Azamara. It appears they want to purge the list and start with a fresh membership. All I can say to ACC is "more power to ya".

I am with you Dave, I had looked at Oceania and it is a very attractive line, but if it is so close and the same ships as Azamara what keeps you from not going in the direction of Oceania if they don't validate their loyal customers ??
That is enough to make me try Oceania! They need to think that one thru.

If it is in your budget go for Oceania
The prices for Azamara are about the same for most of the comparable cruises.

a couple of differences
Azamara: you get house wine with lunch & dinner there is a charge for the specialty restaurants unless you are in a suite then I think it is free (not sure though)
Oceania: no charge for the specialty dining though you get limited reservations depending on your Cat but may be able to get extra seating based on availability, bottled water & sodas are included

Azamara's new features:

"Included in the voyage are amenities such as bottled water and sodas; specialty coffees and teas; housekeeping and dining gratuities; shuttlebus service to/from port communities, where available; destination-influenced entertainment and enrichment programs; most meals and room service; house wine at lunches and dinners; and self-service laundry."

I think both Oceania and Azamara are positioning themselves pretty much in the same niche, which is a cruise line in between the premium lines such as Celebrity and Holland America, and the luxury lines such as Crystal and Regent.

Dave, you're right that Azamara is establishing itself as a cruise line that's separate from Celebrity.

I choose a cruise 1) to be on the water,to be on a ship, just cruising. 2)on the itinerary. 3)to see a new and different ship/try out different cruise lines. Perks are a non-issue with me. Most of the cruise lines have the embarkation down to a science so priority embarkation isn't really that big of a deal. The long lines aren't what they used to be. I just went on a 3-nt cruise with MSC Cruises. My first cruise with them. I arrived to the terminal a little before 1PM and was on the ship in ten minutes. The same with disembarkation. The perk isn't really that relevant anymore with self-assist. Even using the colored tags, in most cases the ship is cleared by 9:00-9:30AM. People are just to impatient.

I get a lot of press releases from MSC - almost daily. I'd like to try them sometime.

They only do 3-nt when they are repositioning. The same ship I just did, MSC Poesia, will be having another 3-nt November 11.

Thanks so much for the Oceania info, I ASSUMED you were going GREEK, but then I saw your itinerary in Croatia and Slovenia, Alexandra that sounds amazing. What did Oceania have to say about Dubrovnik port and ash?
