There is no correct answer for this question. "Best" is subjective - what is best to me may not be so for you.

Hapag-Lloyd's m/s Europa is regarded as the best cruise ship in the world by some professionals. Silversea's vessels are similarly rated.

Not only is it subjective, but how many people could you find that have been on every ship to be able to give any real comparison?

Give us what you're looking for as far as a "best ship".

Yeah, but we don't want to let the secret out or the ship will be overrun!

ON This topic. We just got home and are lightly discussing our next-of course- However Hubby will be in an intensive masters program for 18 months so we have lots of time to plan.

On this last cruise the things we liked and didn't like- suggestions of what line/ship we should be looking at?

Liked- multicultural staff(but still understand English)
Liked- Formal dinners...attentive dinner staff.
Liked- good school aged kids program
Liked- 1-3 ports of call
liked the shows
Liked- varied music by musicians scattered around the ship in small settings.
Liked- quiet decks

Disliked or could do without

rednecks on a "nice cruise" We do not want ball cap, chew spitters, wear jeans to dinner types. We want a nice cruise with people that like nice cruises. Not myrtle beach.

could take or leave casinos
Could take or leave shopping
don't particularly care for a party ship
We don't participate in contests- like belly flopping, or mexican night.
We don't go to bed early but don't need midnight buffets and chocolate at 2 in the morning.
