We have returned from our absolutely marvelous, fantastic, beautiful, breathtaking, awe inspiring trip to Alaska! It was everything we had hoped for, and more.

We were so lucky to see Mt. McKinley for three days--no clouds, no rain, just sheer beauty.

On our tour of Denali Park we saw a mother bear and two cubs, caribo, moose, bald eagles, and much more.

Each town was unique and memorable. In Ketchikan, where it rains 290 days a year, we had sun and temperatures in the 70's!

We saw glaciers calving and a whale breached for us. How can it get any better than this?

I hope I'm not gushing too much, but I wanted to share my excitement and wonderful memories with you!

Welcome back Nadine!

Sounds like an awesome experience.

Can't wait to go to Alaska someday. Did you take lots of pics?

We took 2,000 pictures! My husband loves to take scenic pictures; and, of course, everywhere you turn in Alaska is scenic. I have spent hours downloading them and going through them. They are beautiful! I selected 250 to have printed for our album. It was so hard to choose.

I hope that you can go to Alaska some day. It is sure an expensive proposition though! We went under the assumption that this would be a one-time trip so we splurged on excursions, salmon dinners at nice restaurants, etc.

However, now that we have been there, we want to go back! We have witnessed Mt. McKinley and Denali at it's very best, so we would probably just do the cruise next time, which would be more affordable.

At any rate, it's a beautiful place and I know your wait will be worthwhile.

We'll be there in less than 3 weeks. I hope our cruise goes as well as yours.

Nadine, I'm so happy for you.

I know how disappointed you were to have to postpone your trip; but your wait was greatly rewarded.

I have heard people say many times that it was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip; then, as soon as they get home, they are ready to go right back.

Once again, so glad you had a great trip.

Welcome back, Nadine! I love hearing people gush about Alaska.

How did you like the ship and the cruise experience itself?

Thank you all for the nice emails! Dave, I am sure your experience will be as exciting and thrilling as ours. I will be anxious to hear all about it when you get back.

Sandy, we loved the ship. The Coral Princess is beautiful and the food and accommadations were excellent. We were disappointed in some of the service aspects of Princess, but I know from experience that this can happen on any cruise line. It won't stop us from using Princess again.

I picked up the pictures yesterday and am getting ready to put them into an album. It is such a thrill to relive the trip through the pictures. We have a couple pictures of Mt. McKinley that I want to frame.

By the way, I can't remember who suggested that when we go on the White Pass Railroad, we should sit on the left, but I owe them a debt of gratitude. The views from the left side were fantastic! We took the Best of Skagway tour, which took us up the mountain and then we took a bus back down, stopping at Liarsville and the Red Onion. Being on the left side of the train was so much more scenic than the right side.

Well, back to the real world--we have to mow and weed-whack! Thanks again for the nice emails.

Welcome back NadineM I am so very glad to hear it turned out to be such an awesome experience! You waited so long, the weather cooperated, and you remained uninjured---FANTASTIC! I hope you have time to upload some of your pictures. Especially, the glacier calving and the whale breeching! Now you get to look forward to your Panama Canal cruise!
