We usually cruise between the October-December time frame. Last year we left November 5th for a 14 day and it was the first time we ran into any bad weather at all. There were 2 hurricanes brewing and we did have rain, but who cares, we were snorkeling anyway. We didn't have to cancel any ports and only cancelled 1 snorkeling trip due to lightning. You can never predict what mother nature is going to do, so don't hesitate to book. The cruise line will keep you safe and will adjust the itinerary if necessary.
