We have not used our sprinkler system this entire year ! And we pump water from the lake so it is at no cost, but we have been wishing we could pump the other way. Lawn is so saturated, we can't mow most of it.
My DH works on a golf course and members are so disgusted with the course being closed. Of course, they take it out on him and he can't stop the rain, ya know?
Wishing all the rain would be spread out to all the needy cruise chatters out there....
Okay, I'll add my request too. Those of us in California, especially the Central Coast where a fire has been burning for about 2 weeks now (and, I'm told is nearing Michael Jackson's Netherland Ranch, but that's a totally different can of worms), can certainly use some rain. Why can't it just rain evenly throughout the country and during the appropriate hours - like the non rush hour commute!
Rick you missed a good one there! (but that's a different can of worms) for sure. And would not have been topical. But digdmr, I thought it was hilarious. I guess no comment would be better as well.
So, on the weather, I had no idea it was that dry out there! I hope yall get some rain seriously. But not all at one time.
Penny - Hope your peppers are surviving! My jalapenos, pimientos, and cubanelle's took a dive yesterday. I think it was my fault for too much 9-12-12. All the bells survived. Have had to water almost everyday..Ok I have strayed into pepper patch land.
I couldn't resist, and I wondered if anyone was going to bite (we could go on forever on that subject). But, we really do need the rain. This year has been especially dry. I can't even count the number of fires so far this year. On my commute home from work I've had to drive by fires burning in the hills next to the freeway twice already this year. And like Rick said, we still have about four more months of fire season. We'll gladly take some rain.
My serranos didn't make it, my jalapenos, cayenne, bell and tabasco survived along with my roma and better boy tomatoes. The only herbs that are left are my basil, oregano, and rosemary. I honestly think rosemary would make it through anything, it's dang near a tree now. I left Netherland alone because, well, ummm, just can't go there.
