O.K. This upcoming message does not apply to Texans. (Because they have it FAR worse)
That being said, there was a thread about July 4th that included Dave, myself, and others. Alabama was hurting for rain and we were begging and pleading to receive some. Now, for all of you wonderful people out there who prayed on our behalf, STOP!!! You did a great job but after 8 days of downpours in a row, I am quite satisfied. I was outside picking tomatoes and I noticed my neighbor building an ark. I can only go to the grocery store when it's low tide. Enough!!
Ah yes, the "Be Careful What You Ask For" theory proved true again. We live near San Antonio, TX. I thought we could loan you our ark but we might need it again. We got almost an inch in an hour again today and more on the way. The weather people call it training. I guess it's like one storm blazes a path and several storms follow just like trains. Sounds like what you had. We're ready to get off the train and get onto a cruise ship, which we'll do in 52 days! Hope you dry out soon, drlivingston.
They can start praying for Minnesota now. We are officially in a drought here and the corn crops are very stressed. We would love to have rain. You know you havent had enough when it hurts to walk barefoot in the your own normally green grassy lawn. We havent mowed for almost 2 weeks now. HELP
That's so wierd. We've had rain up here, but not near enough. We're still 18" below normal. Now I don't want the 18" in one day, but having a shower every day would be fine. We're only 85 miles north of the good dr and have not had near enough.
My lawn guy and my shrub guy were only coming about once every two weeks. Now, I am having to get them to come twice a week. Everything is growing so fast with the excess rain. I haven't used my sprinkler system in two weeks. It's thundering outside right now. Here we go again...
