Hey Guys,
We are cruising with our older children for spring break but I am thinking of booking a christmas break cruise for the holidays of 2006. What do you guys that have been on one think of these? Are they festive? Fun for the whole family? I would like to take all the younger kids and test out how they do. We would choose a 3 or 4 day probably.
Thanks!

We're going Dec. 19-24 this year with our four kids 12-19. We'll let you know if the sailing was smooth and festive...and yes romantic?!??!

Hi Cyndi,
Our family were on the Sovereign of The Seas during Xmast 99. There were Xmas decorations and music (of course) and midnight Mass (Do I use the right word? We are Budhism but we also celebrate Xmas). Then Santa arrived by parachuting down from the sky the next morning. All the kids were on deck and hoped that he didn't go down the "chimney" of the ship 8-) Then picture with Santa, and yes, we had free gifts from Santa too. We really enjoyed our trip. I guess that all other ships will have similar porgrams during the holiday. And I am sure that you and your family will enjoy the wonderful time of the year on your cruise ship.

Hello,

I suggest a 7 day cruise on any of the major or premium cruise lines and you and your family will have a great time. The only drawback to a Christmas cruise is that you will pay a premium, that is, top dollar. And you must make your reservations far in advance. My children (ages 11 and 6 when we went on a cruise to Mexico) loved the sense of freedom that they had on the ship. You will love the freedom from cooking, shopping, cleaning, and fighting traffic from one soccer game to piano lessons AND your employer! And your husband will be free from nagging, home repairs, his friends, and his mother in law.

As you proceed in your cruise planning let us know if you need help. There is a fair amount of planning that needs to be done, but this board has lots of very experienced cruisers who will gladly help you.

We have cruised four other times but never during the holidays. I always host people in our home who don't have any place to go but I thought it would be fun to do it once with all the kids.
We will be on The Valor spring break for Easter.
Thanks so much guys, make sure you let us know. I would like to try out Freedom of the Seas for Christmas next year!
