Dave,
My family applied for passports at the beginning of Feb for travel to Mexico at the end of April. IYHO, is our passport going to arrive ontime? If not, can we travel to Mexico without one? Our birth certificates were sent with the application...do I need to send for a second copy? Your help is appriciated

Lizzylizzy, you should play it safe and get yourself a 2nd copy of your birth certificate. I would not take any chances on this. Better to have two birth certificates then messed up vacation plans!

I'd be inclined to go to your county of birth vital statistics office in person, as many counties will take 4 to 6 weeks if you mail your request into the office.
