Port of Galveston

This may be a dumb question but when debarking from Galveston what is the best airport to fly into and do they have shuttles to take you all the way to Galveston. Any information would be most helpful

As far as the best airport, it depends where you are flying from. If you don't live in Texas, you will need to fly into Houston Bush International Airport; fares are usually lower than they are to Houston Hobby.

Some cruise lines offer shuttles to and from the airport, others don't - at least not if you don't buy your flights through the cruise line. You didn't specify which cruise line you are using.

If you booked through a travel agent, ask her/him to check on this for you, as TA's are used to coordinating all aspects of a trip.

My family and I sailed out of Galveston this past April. We flew into Hobby. We rented a car and drove down our selfs. It was a very easy drive. If you are planning on arriving early or staying a day or so after the cruise I would definitly recommend you don't stay in Galveston (the place is a dump).
We rented our car from Enterprise. They were great. Their representative was waiting at the dock when we got off, we signed for the car right there and off we went. Hope this helps.

Royal Caribbean offers shuttle service. But only from Houston International and only on the day of sailing.

That is even true if you book a pre-cruise night at a Galveston hotel through the cruise line! My clients did that last year and I had to find another way for them to get to the hotel.
